Compare wine aroma networks side by side.
Each plot links Odors (gold), Compounds (blue), and Grapes/Appellations (green) using relationships from a provided dataset. The tool automatically detects whether your dataset contains grape varieties or wine regions.
Load data: Click Load default file or choose from the dataset library on either plot. To compare different datasets, load separate files to Plot A and Plot B. Both plots can use the same dataset with different filters for comparison.
Filter independently: Each plot has its own controls. Choose Odor types (multi‑select with Cmd/Ctrl/Shift, or use "All"), select Grape colors (Red/White/All when using grape datasets), and apply different filters to each side to compare subsets.
Focus: Click any node—or use Search & Focus—to highlight two degrees of connection (the node, its neighbors, and their neighbors) within that plot.
Strong links (darker lines) show especially tight associations:
Read details: Each plot's info bar shows compounds, grapes/appellations, and/or odors from the current selection in that plot.
Navigate: Use Clear Focus to restore the full labeled view. Fit to Focus centers and zooms on the selection.
Export: Individual plot exports available (Export PNG, Card, Composite). Use Export Combined View to save both plots with their info cards in a single vertical image—perfect for presentations or reports.
Save & Share: Save Both Plots stores the complete state of both plots locally for reuse. Share URL generates a shareable link that preserves the exact state of both plots—datasets, filters, focus, and camera positions. Recipients see your exact comparison.
Getting started:
Compare grape varieties — load the same dataset on both sides, filter Plot A to red grapes and Plot B to white grapes.
Compare appellations — use the Chardonnay dataset to compare Meursault vs. Corton-Charlemagne side-by-side.
Compare odor profiles — focus on different odor types in each plot to see how aroma compounds differ.
Share comparisons — use Share URL to send your exact comparison to colleagues or students.
